| WHEREAS, Marielle Bugayong is graduating as valedictorian of | ||
| the senior class of Dr. John Horn High School in Mesquite in 2013; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only | ||
| intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the | ||
| highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted | ||
| distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide | ||
| range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social | ||
| studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and | ||
| preparation are myriad; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents David and Maria | ||
| Bugayong, Ms. Bugayong plans to continue her education at Brown | ||
| University, studying biology and neuroscience on a $160,000 | ||
| scholarship; she hopes to later attend medical school and join | ||
| Doctors Without Borders; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Marielle Bugayong | ||
| has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and | ||
| classmates at Horn High School, and her exceptional scholastic | ||
| ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the | ||
| way to limitless opportunities for this outstanding young Texan; | ||
| now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Marielle | ||
| Bugayong, valedictorian of the Horn High School Class of 2013, and | ||
| extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she | ||
| begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Bugayong as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
