R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned over
five decades, Steve and Cissy Powell of Dallas celebrated their
52nd wedding anniversary on December 30, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Steve Powell and the former Cissy Thompson exchanged
the vows of matrimony at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal
Church in Dallas on that memorable day in 1960, following three
ardent months of courtship; over the course of their marriage, the
couple have found in each other a devoted life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Powell count among their blessings a
fine family that includes their two children, Priscilla and Casey,
with whom they treasure sharing the many special occasions of life;
and
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past 52 years, this loyal
husband and wife can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Steve and Cissy Powell on their
52nd wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Powell as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
