| WHEREAS, Sam and Carolyn Owings of Lubbock celebrated their | ||
| 50th wedding anniversary on December 23, 2012, and they may indeed | ||
| reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sam Owings and the former Carolyn Watkins exchanged | ||
| the vows of matrimony in 1962, and over the course of their | ||
| marriage, they have found in each other a loving life partner; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Owings count among their blessings a | ||
| fine family that includes their children, Scott Owings and Shelly | ||
| Stinnett, and their two grandchildren, with whom they treasure | ||
| sharing many special occasions; and | ||
| WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Owings have brought | ||
| to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it is a | ||
| pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Sam and Carolyn Owings on their | ||
| golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes | ||
| for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Owings as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
