R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Residents of Richardson have greatly benefited from
  the leadership of John Murphy, who has served as a city council
  member for two decades; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Murphy was elected to the Richardson City
  Council as the representative for Place 3 in 1991, and he served as
  the mayor pro tem from 1995 to 2007; through the years, he has also
  contributed to the success of the community as the Region 13
  representative on the Texas Municipal League Board of Directors
  from 1998 to 2002 and as the president of the North Central Texas
  Council of Governments Executive Board for 2008-2009; and
         WHEREAS, Today, in addition to continuing his work as a
  council member, Mr. Murphy is the voting representative for
  Richardson, Addison, Wylie, Sachse, and Murphy on the NCTCOG
  Regional Transportation Council, which he previously served as
  chair; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Ohio University, Mr. Murphy holds both
  a bachelor's degree in English literature and a master's degree in
  business administration; he is a veteran of the oil and gas industry
  as well as the banking profession, and he retired from Bank of
  America in 2001; he currently serves as the president of Max
  Impressions, a printing and graphics communications company; and
         WHEREAS, John Murphy is an outstanding public servant whose
  efforts have helped to make Richardson an even better place in which
  to live and work, and it is a pleasure to honor him for his longtime
  commitment to the city; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend John Murphy on his dedicated civic
  service and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success
  and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Murphy as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
