WHEREAS, Todd Sutherland, the boys' basketball coach at | ||
Hardin-Jefferson High School in Sour Lake, realized a notable | ||
achievement during the 2012-2013 season by recording his 600th | ||
career victory; and | ||
WHEREAS, The milestone win came on December 6, 2012, when the | ||
Hawks notched a commanding 91-34 triumph over Legacy Christian | ||
Academy; and | ||
WHEREAS, Coach Sutherland has guided the Hardin-Jefferson | ||
team since 2004, and he previously coached at East Chambers, West | ||
Orange-Stark, and Kountze High Schools during a career that has | ||
spanned 20 years; he has two 3A state championships to his credit, | ||
having won titles with Kountze in 2004 and Hardin-Jefferson in | ||
2007, and this skilled mentor has also helped four athletes to earn | ||
Player of the Year honors; and | ||
WHEREAS, Winning 600 games is a rare feat and one that | ||
reflects great skill and dedication, and Todd Sutherland is truly | ||
deserving of special recognition for becoming one of the select | ||
number of coaches to enjoy this admirable level of success; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Todd Sutherland on attaining his | ||
600th career victory and extend to him sincere best wishes for the | ||
future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Coach Sutherland as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
