WHEREAS, The city of Edinburg has been named the Most | ||
Affordable College Town in the United States by WalletHub; and | ||
WHEREAS, In compiling its ratings of the Best College Towns | ||
and Cities in America, WalletHub conducted an extensive analysis of | ||
415 cities with college or university populations exceeding 7,500 | ||
students; and | ||
WHEREAS, WalletHub's evaluators considered a number of | ||
factors critical to students and residents alike, among them | ||
housing costs, monthly fitness club fees, and the average prices of | ||
pizza, burgers, movies, and bowling; the cost of higher education | ||
also played a pivotal role in determining the final rankings; and | ||
WHEREAS, The city of Edinburg has worked with The University | ||
of Texas Rio Grande Valley to foster a vibrant community where | ||
Texans can readily access a top-notch higher education and enjoy a | ||
high quality of life without incurring a heavy financial burden, | ||
and this accolade is a tribute to the strength of their | ||
collaboration; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate the city of | ||
Edinburg on being named the Most Affordable College Town in the | ||
United States by WalletHub and extend to city officials and staff | ||
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the city as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
