WHEREAS, Donnie Glenn retired as battalion chief of the | ||
Sherman Fire Department in February 2015, after three and a half | ||
decades of exemplary service to his fellow citizens; and | ||
WHEREAS, A graduate of Angelo State University, Donnie Glenn | ||
joined the Sherman Fire Department in 1979; two years later, he took | ||
on the position of driver, and he was made a lieutenant in 1990; | ||
promoted to captain in 1997, he was twice chosen to lead the | ||
department as interim fire chief; he has held the position of fire | ||
battalion chief for SFD since April 2006; although he is leaving | ||
that department, he will continue to serve area residents as chief | ||
of the Pottsboro Fire Department; and | ||
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Chief Glenn enjoys the love | ||
and support of his wife, Donna, and their three children, Daniel, | ||
David, and Katie; and | ||
WHEREAS, Donnie Glenn has exemplified the highest ideals of | ||
his profession throughout his career, and his unwavering dedication | ||
to the safety and well-being of the public has earned him the | ||
lasting respect and admiration of his fellow firefighters; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Donnie Glenn on his retirement from | ||
the Sherman Fire Department and extend to him sincere best wishes | ||
for the future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Chief Glenn as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
