R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Ray Wright was inducted into the
  Hurst-Euless-Bedford Sports Hall of Fame on February 16, 2013, in
  recognition of his notable contributions to local athletics; and
         WHEREAS, Since 1995, the H-E-B Sports Hall of Fame has paid
  tribute to individuals and teams who have made a positive impact in
  the community through sports-related endeavors; the hall was
  created to honor successful teams and athletes as well as
  officials, administrators, trainers, medical practitioners, media
  figures, and others who have distinguished themselves with their
  achievements; and
         WHEREAS, Ray Wright attended Hurst Hills Elementary School
  and began demonstrating his athletic skill as a member of the
  football and track teams at Central Junior High; he went on to
  become an all-district and all-area football player at L. D. Bell
  High School and then proved his abilities at the collegiate level
  from 1990 to 1995 as a member of the Duke University football team;
  and
         WHEREAS, In 1997, Mr. Wright became a scouting intern for the
  Washington Redskins of the National Football League and then held
  the posts of scouting administrator and director of player
  programs; after serving as a recruiting coordinator for Cornell
  University in 1999 and 2000, he spent eight seasons with the Houston
  Texans as a strength and conditioning coach; since 2010, he has been
  the head strength and conditioning coach with the Redskins,
  overseeing all aspects of the players' workout programs; and
         WHEREAS, Ray Wright's many accomplishments have helped
  advance the proud tradition of athletic excellence in the
  Hurst-Euless-Bedford school system and beyond, and he is indeed
  deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ray Wright on his induction into
  the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Sports Hall of Fame and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Coach Wright as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
