| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 12, Parks and Wildlife | ||
| Code, is amended by adding Section 12.029 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 12.029. POSTMORTEM TESTING OF DEER FOR CHRONIC WASTING | ||
| DISEASE. (a) Notwithstanding any other law, postmortem testing of | ||
| deer for chronic wasting disease under this code or a rule adopted | ||
| under this code must be conducted by the Texas A&M Veterinary | ||
| Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. | ||
| (b) The results of a test described by Subsection (a) must | ||
| be interpreted by at least two employees of the Texas A&M Veterinary | ||
| Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
