A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the permissible wealth per student of certain school
  districts.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 41.002, Education Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
         (c)  Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, if
  a school district with a current Financial Allocation Study for
  Texas (FAST) rating from the comptroller of at least four stars on a
  five-star scale, or the equivalent of that rating under any
  subsequent system developed by the comptroller, has a wealth per
  student that exceeds the equalized wealth level, the commissioner
  shall consider the district to have reduced its wealth per student
  by an amount equal to five percent of the difference between the
  district's wealth per student and the equalized wealth level.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
