| relating to substitutes for hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants | ||
| applicable to commercial or residential buildings or construction. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 382, Health and Safety Code, is amended | ||
| by adding Subchapter L to read as follows: | ||
| SUBCHAPTER L. REGULATION OF HYDROFLUOROCARBONS | ||
| Sec. 382.551. SUBSTITUTES FOR HYDROFLUOROCARBON | ||
| REFRIGERANTS APPLICABLE TO COMMERCIAL OR RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS OR | ||
| CONSTRUCTION. A building code or other requirement applicable to | ||
| commercial or residential buildings or construction may not | ||
| prohibit the use of a substitute refrigerant authorized pursuant to | ||
| 42 U.S.C. Section 7671k. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect January 1, 2023. | ||
