BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Chapter 57, Occupations Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subchapter D to read as follows: | ||
SUBCHAPTER D. COLLECTION OF BIOMETRIC INFORMATION | ||
Sec. 57.151. COLLECTION OF BIOMETRIC INFORMATION | ||
PROHIBITED. A state agency may not collect biometric information, | ||
including fingerprints, from an applicant for a license unless | ||
collection of the information is authorized by another provision of | ||
law. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
