| relating to the establishment of a grant program for local mental | ||
| health authorities building new mental health facilities. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 533, Health and Safety | ||
| Code, is amended by adding Section 533.03522 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 533.03522. LOCAL AUTHORITY GRANT PROGRAM. (a) The | ||
| commission shall establish a program through which the commission, | ||
| using money appropriated or otherwise available for that purpose, | ||
| may award a grant to a local mental health authority to assist the | ||
| authority in building a mental health facility in a county served by | ||
| the local authority. | ||
| (b) The executive commissioner shall adopt rules necessary | ||
| to establish and administer the grant program under this section. | ||
| SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date | ||
| of this Act, the executive commissioner of the Health and Human | ||
| Services Commission shall adopt rules necessary to implement the | ||
| changes in law made by this Act. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
