| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 325, Government Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Section 325.0124 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 325.0124. REVIEW OF EFFORTS REGARDING DISPARITIES IN | ||
| OUTCOMES. As part of the commission's review of the Health and | ||
| Human Services Commission and the Texas Education Agency under this | ||
| chapter, the commission and its staff shall assess the agency's | ||
| efforts to reduce disparities in outcomes among the populations the | ||
| agency serves in the performance of its functions. The commission | ||
| staff shall notify the commission of any findings and | ||
| recommendations. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
