in certain municipalities. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 143.117, Local Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | ||
(b-1) Notice of the suspension of a fire fighter must be | ||
personally served on the fire fighter not later than the 180th day | ||
after the date the department discovers or becomes aware of the | ||
civil service rule violation for which the fire fighter is | ||
suspended. | ||
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | ||
to a suspension of a firefighter that occurs on or after the | ||
effective date of this Act. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
