relating to the dedication to the state highway fund of certain | ||
permit fee revenue attributable to oversize or overweight vehicles. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 623, Transportation Code, | ||
is amended by adding Section 623.009 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 623.009. REDEDICATION OF CERTAIN REVENUE TO THE STATE | ||
HIGHWAY FUND. Notwithstanding any other law, all dedications of | ||
permit fee revenue to the state highway fund made under this chapter | ||
and Chapters 621 and 622 are rededicated to the state highway fund | ||
for the purposes of acquiring, constructing, and maintaining public | ||
roadways. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect January 1, 2022, but only | ||
if the constitutional amendment proposed by the 87th Legislature, | ||
Regular Session, 2021, constitutionally dedicating certain revenue | ||
to the state highway fund for the purposes of acquiring, | ||
constructing, and maintaining public roadways is approved by the | ||
voters. If that amendment is not approved by the voters, this Act | ||
has no effect. |
