| campuses of certain institutions of higher education. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 43, Election Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 43.008 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 43.008. CAMPUS POLLING PLACE. (a) In this section, | ||
| "institution of higher education" has the meaning assigned by | ||
| Section 61.003, Education Code. | ||
| (b) The commissioners court of a county shall designate as a | ||
| polling place a location on the main campus of an institution of | ||
| higher education located within the county if at least 5,000 | ||
| students are enrolled in the institution. | ||
| (c) The commissioners court of a county shall designate two | ||
| polling places on the main campus of an institution of higher | ||
| education if at least 10,000 students are enrolled in the | ||
| institution, and shall designate one additional polling place for | ||
| every additional 10,000 students enrolled in the institution. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
