A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to license application procedures prescribed by the
  National Association of Insurance Commissioners for certain
  insurance adjusters.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 4101.052, Insurance Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
         (c)  For the purpose of Subsection (a) as it relates to
  adjusters described by Section 4101.001(a)(1)(C), the commissioner
  shall prescribe the National Association of Insurance
  Commissioners Uniform Application for Individual Adjuster or
  Apprentice License/Registration as it existed on May 1, 2021.
         SECTION 2.  Section 4101.053, Insurance Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
         (e)  The commissioner shall take any action necessary for
  this state to participate in and adopt the application procedures
  of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners National
  Insurance Producer Registry for the purpose of licensing and
  license renewal for independent adjusters described by Section
  4101.001(a)(1)(C).
         SECTION 3.  The commissioner of insurance shall adopt rules
  to implement Section 4101.053(e), Insurance Code, as added by this
  Act, not later than December 1, 2022.
         SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
