AN ACT
  relating to public school educator continuing education credit for
  instruction on the use of an automated external defibrillator.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 21, Education Code, is
  amended by adding Section 21.0541 to read as follows:
         Sec. 21.0541.  CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT FOR INSTRUCTION
  RELATED TO USE OF AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR. The board
  shall adopt rules allowing an educator to receive credit towards
  the educator's continuing education requirements for completion of
  an instructional course on the use of an automated external
  defibrillator that meets the guidelines for automated external
  defibrillator training approved under Section 779.002, Health and
  Safety Code.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
