| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. The heading to Section 18.062, Election Code, is | ||
| amended to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 18.062. INTERSTATE VOTER REGISTRATION COOPERATION | ||

| SECTION 2. Section 18.062(b), Election Code, is amended to | ||
| read as follows: | ||
| (b) A system developed under this section: | ||
| (1) may not involve participation in the Electronic | ||
| Registration Information Center program; and | ||
| (2) must comply with the National Voter Registration | ||
| Act (52 U.S.C. Section 20501 et seq.). | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
