BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Title 14, Local Government Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subtitle C to read as follows: | ||
SUBTITLE C. TRANSPORTATION PROVISIONS APPLYING TO MORE THAN ONE | ||
TYPE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT | ||
CHAPTER 631. TRAVEL PROHIBITIONS | ||
Sec. 631.001. TRAVEL PROHIBITIONS. A municipality or | ||
county may not adopt or enforce an ordinance, order, or other | ||
measure that prohibits the travel of a person through the | ||
municipality or county because of the purpose for such travel. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the | ||
legislative session. |
