| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Title 14, Local Government Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subtitle C to read as follows: | ||
| SUBTITLE C. TRANSPORTATION PROVISIONS APPLYING TO MORE THAN ONE | ||
| TYPE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT | ||
| CHAPTER 631. TRAVEL PROHIBITIONS | ||
| Sec. 631.001. TRAVEL PROHIBITIONS. A municipality or | ||
| county may not adopt or enforce an ordinance, order, or other | ||
| measure that prohibits the travel of a person through the | ||
| municipality or county because of the purpose for such travel. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the | ||
| legislative session. | ||
