relating to the designation of an emergency management planner by | ||
state agencies. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 418, Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 418.0055 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 418.0055. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNER; TRAINING | ||
REQUIRED. (a) In this section, "state agency" has the meaning | ||
assigned by Section 411.0251. | ||
(b) Each state agency shall designate a full-time employee | ||
of the agency to serve as emergency management planner for the | ||
agency. | ||
(c) An emergency management planner designated by a state | ||
agency shall: | ||
(1) prepare and keep current an emergency management | ||
plan for the agency; and | ||
(2) annually complete the training prescribed by the | ||
division under this section. | ||
(d) The division shall develop and provide a training course | ||
related to emergency management planning. The division shall | ||
provide a certificate of completion to a person who completes the | ||
training course required by this section. | ||
(e) A person who completes the training required by this | ||
section is exempt from the training required under Section 418.005, | ||
if applicable. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
