| relating to terms for members of the state executive committee of | ||
| the University Interscholastic League. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 33.083, Education Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsections (e) and (f) to read as follows: | ||
| (e) Members of the state executive committee of the | ||
| University Interscholastic League are appointed for staggered | ||
| three-year terms, with as near as possible to one-third of the | ||
| members' terms expiring June 30 of each year. | ||
| (f) A person may not serve more than two terms on the state | ||
| executive committee of the University Interscholastic League. | ||
| SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date | ||
| of this Act, the commissioner of education shall adopt any rules | ||
| necessary to implement the requirement of staggered three-year | ||
| terms imposed under Section 33.083(e), Education Code, as added by | ||
| this Act, for members of the state executive committee of the | ||
| University Interscholastic League. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
