| peace officers. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | ||
| is amended by adding Section 504.5112 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 504.5112. LICENSED PEACE OFFICERS. (a) In this | ||
| section, "licensed peace officer" means a person who is an active | ||
| licensed peace officer under Chapter 1701, Occupations Code. | ||
| (b) The department shall issue specialty license plates for | ||
| licensed peace officers. The license plates must include the words | ||
| "Licensed Peace Officer" and have the same design as a license plate | ||
| issued under Section 504.5111. | ||
| (c) There is no fee for the issuance of the license plates. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
