| relating to the purchase of iron and steel products made in the | ||

| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 2252.201(1), Government Code, is amended | ||
| to read as follows: | ||
| (1) "Governmental entity" means this state or a board, | ||
| commission, department, office, or other agency in the executive | ||
| branch of state government, including an institution of higher | ||
| education as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code. The term | ||
| does not include a political subdivision. | ||
| SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to | ||
| bid documents submitted or contracts entered into on or after the | ||
| effective date of this Act. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | ||
