| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 54, Water Code, is amended | ||
| by adding Section 54.104 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 54.104. MEETINGS. (a) A regular or special meeting of | ||
| the board of a district must be held at a publicly accessible | ||
| location inside or not more than five miles outside the territory of | ||
| the district. | ||
| (b) This section does not prohibit the board of a district | ||
| from holding an open or closed meeting by telephone conference call | ||
| or videoconference call in accordance with Chapter 551, Government | ||
| Code. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
