| WHEREAS, March 23, 2017, marked the 100th anniversary of the | ||
| Washington County Chamber of Commerce; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The mission of this exemplary organization is to | ||
| promote and support a positive economic environment for Washington | ||
| County while preserving the region's natural resources and | ||
| exceptional quality of life; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since its founding, the Washington County Chamber of | ||
| Commerce has been a volunteer-led nonprofit association whose | ||
| members provide a wealth of resources for new and existing | ||
| businesses; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The chamber offers its members opportunities to | ||
| network with other businesses, market their services and products, | ||
| and remain informed on issues of importance to the business | ||
| community; it is an outstanding resource for new and expanding | ||
| companies and for new residents and people thinking of relocating | ||
| to the area; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Convention and Visitors Bureau has done | ||
| exceptional work marketing the area to tourists by celebrating the | ||
| rich history and scenic beauty of Washington County; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Washington County Chamber of Commerce has had a | ||
| profound impact on the economic growth and prosperity of the area, | ||
| and it is truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, | ||
| be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the 85th Legislature of the State of Texas | ||
| hereby commend the Washington County Chamber of Commerce on 100 | ||
| years of exemplary service to the community; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for the | ||
| chamber as an expression of esteem from the Texas Legislature. | ||
