BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 23, Article I, Texas Constitution, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 23. (a) Every citizen shall have the right to keep and | ||
bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State. | ||
(b) The [ |

regulate the wearing of arms, with a view to prevent crime, but may | ||
not require a citizen of this state to obtain a license or permit to | ||
wear arms. | ||
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. | ||
The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the | ||
proposition: "The constitutional amendment prohibiting the | ||
legislature from requiring a license or permit for the wearing of | ||
arms." |
