| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Celeste Prather-Young, who has been named the | ||
| recipient of the 2010 Executive Director of the Year Award by | ||
| Texas Court Appointed Special Advocates; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Executive director of Court Appointed Special | ||
| Advocates of Hunt County, Celeste Prather-Young has worked | ||
| tirelessly to further the organization's mission of providing | ||
| trained volunteers to serve as the voice of children who are | ||
| under the protection of the state and to assure them a safe, | ||
| stable, and permanent environment; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Court Appointed Special Advocates was founded in | ||
| 1977 to ensure that the abuse and neglect suffered by children at | ||
| home does not continue once those children are put in the hands of | ||
| the system; its volunteers are appointed by judges to serve as | ||
| advocates for those children in court and to work toward placing | ||
| them into a safe, loving home; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Celeste Prather-Young is truly deserving of | ||
| recognition for her many outstanding achievements in leading | ||
| Court Appointed Special Advocates of Hunt County; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Celeste Prather-Young on her | ||
| commitment to serving the most vulnerable in our society and | ||
| extend congratulations to her on receiving the 2010 Executive | ||
| Director of the Year Award by Texas Court Appointed Special | ||
| Advocates; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
