WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize Ruth Bloom Doss on the occasion of her retirement from | ||
the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts on June 30, | ||
2011, after 31 years of state service; and | ||
WHEREAS, Ruth Doss began her career with the state on a | ||
part-time basis working at Southwest Texas State University | ||
while she completed requirements for bachelor of business | ||
administration degrees in management and computer information | ||
systems; and | ||
WHEREAS, Ruth Doss worked as a programmer apprentice for | ||
the Texas Railroad Commission before joining the comptroller's | ||
office as a programmer in 1984, and in 1987 she became supervisor | ||
of her group; over the years, she accepted many new assignments, | ||
including area manager for applications technical support in the | ||
Information Technology Division and area manager of Data Design | ||
and Analytics, and she excelled in every project; and | ||
WHEREAS, Throughout her career with the comptroller's | ||
office, she handled her many responsibilities with exceptional | ||
efficiency and dedication; she initiated many projects that | ||
greatly improved her departments and helped increase employee | ||
performance; she demonstrated excellent technical knowledge and | ||
outstanding customer service skills, and her presence in the | ||
Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly | ||
missed; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Ruth Bloom Doss | ||
for her many contributions to our state and extend to her best | ||
wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
