Edward Francis Bysinski | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens | ||
of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Captain Edward Francis | ||
Bysinski, who died January 31, 2015, at the age of 92; and | ||
WHEREAS, Edward Bysinski was born on August 6, 1922, in | ||
Hammond, Indiana; he enriched the lives of all who knew him | ||
through his strength, his engaging personality, and his | ||
enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and | ||
WHEREAS, He joined the United States Air Force at the age | ||
of 22 and served with distinction as a fighter pilot in World War | ||
II; he earned the rank of captain during his 23 years of service | ||
and was the recipient of numerous awards and medals; he retired | ||
from the military in 1968; and | ||
WHEREAS, In 2011, he was honored with the Distinguished | ||
Service to Country Award by the Bexar County Democratic Party, | ||
and the following year he was named honorary Grand Marshall of | ||
San Antonio's annual Veterans Day Parade by the United States | ||
Military Veterans Parade Association; and | ||
WHEREAS, Captain Bysinski was preceded in death by his | ||
lifetime partner, Dora Rabago; he cherished time spent with his | ||
family, and he was a man of faith who was active in many civic and | ||
political organizations; he will long be remembered with | ||
affection and admiration by all who were privileged to share in | ||
his life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
family of Captain Edward Francis Bysinski; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Captain Edward Francis Bysinski. | ||
