Jimmy Dale Patterson | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
citizens of Dallas in mourning the loss of Jimmy Dale Patterson, | ||
who died December 10, 2024, at the age of 68; and | ||
WHEREAS, Jim was born on January 30, 1956; as the youngest | ||
of eight children, he was adored by his older siblings and was | ||
raised by his large and loving family in Spur; and | ||
WHEREAS, After earning a bachelor's degree in business | ||
administration from North Texas State University, Jim began his | ||
career as an accountant for Mobil Oil Corporation; he went on to | ||
find much success in the banking industry and served in | ||
leadership positions for nearly two decades; and | ||
WHEREAS, A man of many pursuits, Jim joined the Dallas | ||
County Tax Office as an accountant in 2009, and his contributions | ||
to the office and to the commissioners court and sheriff's office | ||
were highly valued; his professional excellence, his aptitude | ||
with numbers, and his exemplary leadership earned him the respect | ||
of his colleagues, and he was recognized with numerous awards | ||
over the course of his distinguished career; and | ||
WHEREAS, Above all, Jim cherished time spent with his loved | ||
ones, and he delighted in cooking his famous barbecue and Sunday | ||
meals for his family and dear friends, including his best friend of | ||
over 50 years, Alfred Craig; he was blessed with two children, Evan | ||
and Alyssa, and two grandchildren, Giana and Eian, who were a source | ||
of pride and joy to him and enriched his life immeasurably; and | ||
WHEREAS, A man of integrity, determination, and strong | ||
character, Jim gave unselfishly to others, and he leaves behind | ||
memories that will long be treasured by all who were privileged | ||
to share in his life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th | ||
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
family of Jimmy Dale Patterson; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Jimmy Dale Patterson. | ||
