SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 23
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Jimmy Dale Patterson
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Dallas in mourning the loss of Jimmy Dale Patterson,
  who died December 10, 2024, at the age of 68; and
         WHEREAS, Jim was born on January 30, 1956; as the youngest
  of eight children, he was adored by his older siblings and was
  raised by his large and loving family in Spur; and
         WHEREAS, After earning a bachelor's degree in business
  administration from North Texas State University, Jim began his
  career as an accountant for Mobil Oil Corporation; he went on to
  find much success in the banking industry and served in
  leadership positions for nearly two decades; and
         WHEREAS, A man of many pursuits, Jim joined the Dallas
  County Tax Office as an accountant in 2009, and his contributions
  to the office and to the commissioners court and sheriff's office
  were highly valued; his professional excellence, his aptitude
  with numbers, and his exemplary leadership earned him the respect
  of his colleagues, and he was recognized with numerous awards
  over the course of his distinguished career; and
         WHEREAS, Above all, Jim cherished time spent with his loved
  ones, and he delighted in cooking his famous barbecue and Sunday
  meals for his family and dear friends, including his best friend of
  over 50 years, Alfred Craig; he was blessed with two children, Evan
  and Alyssa, and two grandchildren, Giana and Eian, who were a source
  of pride and joy to him and enriched his life immeasurably; and
         WHEREAS, A man of integrity, determination, and strong
  character, Jim gave unselfishly to others, and he leaves behind
  memories that will long be treasured by all who were privileged
  to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Jimmy Dale Patterson; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Jimmy Dale Patterson.
