	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 3


	In Memory
	of
	Hector Gutierrez

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
	commemorates the life of Hector Hugo Gutierrez, who died on August
	9, 2023; and
	WHEREAS, Hector Gutierrez was born in Paras, Nuevo Leon,
	Mexico, and was raised in Monterrey; a brilliant student with
	extraordinary promise, Hector began a long and successful career in
	banking and was assigned to a post in Reynosa, Mexico; and
	WHEREAS, A man of discipline and integrity, Hector held a
	number of leadership positions in Reynosa, including regional
	director for a national Mexican bank; he found great fulfillment
	serving as an officer in finance until 1989, when he retired from
	banking to pursue a career in law; and
	WHEREAS, Hector became a licensed attorney in Mexico, where
	he devoted his time and energy to representing business owners and
	other individuals in numerous cases involving land disputes; he was
	beloved and respected in his community for the wisdom of his
	counsel and the breadth of his understanding of legal matters,
	Mexican politics, and current events; and
	WHEREAS, Hector was a faithful husband to Isabelle, his wife
	of 55 years, and was a loving father to their three sons, Hugo,
	Jaime, and Carlos, as well as a doting grandfather to their three
	grandsons, who enriched his life immeasurably; and
	WHEREAS, Hector and his family later moved to McAllen, where
	he forged many strong friendships and became a source of knowledge
	and inspiration to his loved ones and his neighbors; he will long be
	remembered for his wisdom and generosity, and his memory will be
	forever cherished by his family and by all who were blessed to share
	in his life; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
	Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences
	to the bereaved family of Hector Hugo Gutierrez; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for them
	as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that
	when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hector
	Gutierrez.
