| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Jose Ruth for his many years of exceptional service to | ||
| the nation; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Jose Ruth was born in Texas on August 10, 1941; he | ||
| was a standout golfer in high school and a two-time district | ||
| medalist and state qualifier; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Air Force in | ||
| 1961 and served with distinction for more than 21 years; while | ||
| stationed at Offut Air Force Base in Nebraska, he met and | ||
| married his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Alice Ruth; the | ||
| couple has been blessed with three children, 10 grandchildren, | ||
| and 11 great-grandchildren; and | ||
| WHEREAS, After completing his active duty military | ||
| service, Mr. Ruth continued to serve the nation by working at the | ||
| Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha for 23 | ||
| years; he retired in 2006; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Jose Ruth has served his country with courage, | ||
| honor, and an unswerving dedication to duty, and it is truly | ||
| fitting that he receive special recognition for his exemplary | ||
| career; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Jose Ruth for his | ||
| service to the nation and extend to him best wishes for continued | ||
| success in all his endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
