WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize Oscar Guajardo, who is retiring from the Brownsville | ||
Independent School District after more than 45 years of | ||
outstanding service; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Guajardo began his distinguished career in | ||
education as a physical education aide in Brownsville while still | ||
attending college; after earning a degree from Texas A&I | ||
University in 1972, he taught for a time in Port Isabel before | ||
returning to Brownsville as a teacher at Skinner Elementary | ||
School; he also earned a master's degree and a professional | ||
administration degree; and | ||
WHEREAS, He was a member of the special education faculty | ||
at Skinner Elementary School for 20 years before working as a | ||
counselor at Victoria Heights and Perez Elementary Schools for 10 | ||
years; in 2007, he began working full-time at Perez Elementary | ||
School, where he has developed many lasting friendships; and | ||
WHEREAS, An exemplary educator, Mr. Guajardo has had a | ||
positive impact on the lives of countless students, and his | ||
presence at Perez Elementary School will be greatly missed; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th | ||
Legislature, hereby commend Oscar Guajardo on his exceptional | ||
service to the people of Brownsville as an educator with the | ||
Brownsville Independent School District and extend to him best | ||
wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
