John Millard Fultz | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
citizens of Navasota in mourning the loss of John Millard Fultz, | ||
who died March 20, 2017, at the age of 66; and | ||
WHEREAS, John Fultz was born on August 4, 1950; he touched | ||
the lives of others with his warmth, his boundless generosity, | ||
and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and | ||
WHEREAS, He graduated as the salutatorian of the Navasota | ||
High School Class of 1968, and he went on to graduate from The | ||
University of Texas at Austin in 1972 and from the South Texas | ||
College of Law in 1977; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Fultz returned to Navasota in 1978 to practice | ||
law with his mother and stepfather at Fultz and Davis Attorneys at | ||
Law, and later, he continued his family's legacy by serving as | ||
counsel for Mid-South Electric Cooperative Association; he was a | ||
Fellow of the Texas Bar Association and a member of the Grimes | ||
County Bar Association, and he served as the city attorney for the | ||
Cities of Todd Mission and Navasota; and | ||
WHEREAS, A distinguished member of his community, Mr. Fultz | ||
was active in numerous civic and community organizations, | ||
including the Masonic Navasota Lodge, the Scottish Rite Lodge, the | ||
Navasota Theater Alliance, and Kiwanis International; he was a man | ||
guided by his faith, and he served as treasurer and deacon at the | ||
First Baptist Church of Navasota; and | ||
WHEREAS, John Fultz was devoted to his wife, Kathy, and to | ||
his children and grandchildren, and he cherished time spent with | ||
his family; he was beloved by many, and he leaves behind memories | ||
that will long be held dear by all who were privileged to share in | ||
his life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
family of John Millard Fultz; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of John Fultz. | ||
