SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 532
In Memory
of
John Millard Fultz
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of Navasota in mourning the loss of John Millard Fultz,
who died March 20, 2017, at the age of 66; and
WHEREAS, John Fultz was born on August 4, 1950; he touched
the lives of others with his warmth, his boundless generosity,
and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and
WHEREAS, He graduated as the salutatorian of the Navasota
High School Class of 1968, and he went on to graduate from The
University of Texas at Austin in 1972 and from the South Texas
College of Law in 1977; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fultz returned to Navasota in 1978 to practice
law with his mother and stepfather at Fultz and Davis Attorneys at
Law, and later, he continued his family's legacy by serving as
counsel for Mid-South Electric Cooperative Association; he was a
Fellow of the Texas Bar Association and a member of the Grimes
County Bar Association, and he served as the city attorney for the
Cities of Todd Mission and Navasota; and
WHEREAS, A distinguished member of his community, Mr. Fultz
was active in numerous civic and community organizations,
including the Masonic Navasota Lodge, the Scottish Rite Lodge, the
Navasota Theater Alliance, and Kiwanis International; he was a man
guided by his faith, and he served as treasurer and deacon at the
First Baptist Church of Navasota; and
WHEREAS, John Fultz was devoted to his wife, Kathy, and to
his children and grandchildren, and he cherished time spent with
his family; he was beloved by many, and he leaves behind memories
that will long be held dear by all who were privileged to share in
his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
family of John Millard Fultz; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
memory of John Fultz.
