| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Dr. Terrance Hines, who is serving as Physician of the | ||
| Day at the State Capitol on January 14, 2025; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Each day of the legislative session, a member of | ||
| the Texas Academy of Family Physicians volunteers valuable time | ||
| away from their practice to assist legislators and support staff | ||
| at the Capitol health clinic; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dr. Terrance Hines is the executive director and | ||
| chief medical officer for University Health Services at The | ||
| University of Texas at Austin, where he manages a large, | ||
| multi-specialty clinic that provides care to a diverse | ||
| population of university students; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dr. Hines earned his undergraduate and medical | ||
| degrees from Texas A&M University; he is a family medicine | ||
| board-certified physician passionate about making a difference | ||
| in his community; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This esteemed leader and administrator in health | ||
| care serves on the boards of the Texas Academy of Family | ||
| Physicians, AIDS Services of Austin, and Baylor Scott and White | ||
| Health Austin/Round Rock Region, and he is a highly regarded | ||
| faculty member of Texas A&M University and The University of | ||
| Texas at Austin medical schools; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Dr. Hines has | ||
| provided compassionate care to individuals and families from a | ||
| wide range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds; he | ||
| exemplifies the highest ideals of the medical profession, and it | ||
| is indeed a pleasure to welcome him to the State Capitol; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Terrance Hines for his | ||
| participation in the Physician of the Day program and extend to | ||
| him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
