SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 636
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Carlos Rodriguez, Jr.
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Weslaco in mourning the loss of Carlos Rodriguez,
  Jr., who died March 25, 2013, at the age of 75; and
         WHEREAS, Carlos Rodriguez, Jr., was born in Weslaco and
  spent the majority of his life in South Texas; he served the
  nation with distinction as a member of the United States Air
  Force; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez was married to the love of his life,
  Elma, for 48 years; the couple was blessed with five daughters,
  Sylvia Ann, Sandra Lynn, Rosanna, Carla Yvonne, and Laura Liza,
  who were a source of much pride and joy; and
         WHEREAS, Along with his wife, this outstanding businessman
  was the founder and owner of South Texas Vocational Technical
  Institute, also known as South Texas Vo-Tech; a leader in the
  field of technical training, this exceptional establishment
  played a vital role in helping countless young men and women
  achieve their educational and professional goals; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, Mr.
  Rodriguez gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and
  valued counsel will not be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband and father, and he leaves
  behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and
  many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Carlos Rodriguez, Jr.; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Carlos Rodriguez, Jr.
