| WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Greg and Susan | ||
| Reno made a lifetime commitment to each other, and their mutual | ||
| trust has been amply rewarded, for they are celebrating their | ||
| 50th wedding anniversary on May 18, 2023; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Greg and Susan were wed on May 18, 1973, in | ||
| Dallas; the world has changed considerably in the years of their | ||
| marriage, yet they have continued to cherish the shared values | ||
| that helped inspire their bond long ago; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Greg and Susan have contributed greatly to their | ||
| church and community through their involvement coaching youth | ||
| sports and volunteering with the Duncanville Police Department; | ||
| Greg, a sixth-generation Texan, is a member of the Sons of the | ||
| Republic of Texas, and Susan is affiliated with such lineage | ||
| groups as the Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial | ||
| Dames of the 17th Century; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their | ||
| love and devotion as together they have experienced the | ||
| challenges and joys that life brings; Greg and Susan continue to | ||
| treasure their wonderful family while enjoying their retirement | ||
| years; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Greg and Susan Reno are esteemed members of their | ||
| community, and their lasting love is a source of inspiration to | ||
| their many friends and loved ones; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Reno | ||
| on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes | ||
| for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
