| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Homero Martinez III, who has been named associate | ||
| director of the Veterans Affairs Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health | ||
| Care System; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born in McAllen, Texas, Mr. Martinez began a | ||
| career with the United States Air Force by enlisting on April 22, | ||
| 1993; he was commissioned as an officer in January of 2001; and | ||
| WHEREAS, During his military career, he worked in the Air | ||
| Education and Training Command, the Air Mobility Command, the | ||
| United States Transportation Command, and the Air Combat | ||
| Command, and he contributed to a variety of military programs, | ||
| including Operations, Strategic Planning and Implementation, | ||
| Recruiting, Financial Management, and Financial Services; he was | ||
| mobilized with the Multi-National Force--Iraq while serving in | ||
| Operation Iraqi Freedom; he retired from the air force in April | ||
| of 2013 after many years of distinguished service; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez's experience both within and outside | ||
| of the military has provided him unique insight to the varied needs | ||
| of veterans, and his administrative and financial expertise, as | ||
| well as his leadership skills, will contribute greatly to the | ||
| success of the Veterans Affairs Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health | ||
| Care System; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Homero Martinez III for his tireless | ||
| work on behalf of veterans and congratulate him on being named | ||
| associate director of the Veterans Affairs Texas Valley Coastal | ||
| Bend Health Care System; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
