SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 697
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Alicia Lippman
 
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Alicia Pekema Lippman
  suffered an immeasurable loss with her death on May 24, 2022, at
  the age of 32; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of James and Dianne Pekema and Janice
  Pekema, the former Alicia Renea Pekema was born on July 6, 1989,
  in Houston, and grew up sharing in the companionship of three
  siblings, Jesse, Marc, and Scott; she graduated from Memorial
  High School and continued her education at The University of
  Texas at Austin, graduating with honors with a degree in
  government and political communications; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan started her career in
  television in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and she went on to work in
  Baton Rouge and in Little Rock, Arkansas, before becoming an
  assistant news director for CBS19 in Tyler; a talented artist,
  she was especially skilled at drawing, photography, and acting;
  she was also active in the Houston Children's Chorus, initially
  as a singer and later as an alumni staff member; and
         WHEREAS, While in Baton Rouge, she met the love of her
  life, David Lippman, whom she married on September 17, 2017, in
  Portland, Oregon; her life was further enriched by her nieces and
  nephews, Cain, Layne, Charlotte, Olivia, Jackson, and Madison;
  she was also devoted to her dogs, Daisy and Duke; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for her kindness, her creativity, and her
  vibrant personality, Alicia Lippman brightened the world for all
  who knew her, and they will forever hold her close in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Alicia Pekema
  Lippman and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn her
  passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Alicia Lippman.
