| David Clark Craig | ||
| WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with | ||
| the passing of Dr. David Clark Craig of Henderson on May 5, 2017, | ||
| at the age of 74; and | ||
| WHEREAS, David Craig was born on November 8, 1942, in | ||
| Thorold, Ontario, Canada, to Matthew and Edith Craig; after | ||
| embarking on a career in ophthalmology, he relocated to the | ||
| United States, and in 1978 he settled in Henderson; he owned and | ||
| operated Craig Eye Care Associates for more than three decades | ||
| and also treated patients in nearby communities, such as Kilgore | ||
| and Carthage; he held membership in the Texas Medical | ||
| Association, the American College of Surgeons, and the American | ||
| Academy of Ophthalmology; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan gave generously of his time | ||
| and expertise through his involvement in the Kiwanis Club of | ||
| Henderson, and he was active in the Henderson Civic Theatre, | ||
| often appearing in the group's productions; moreover, he was a | ||
| congregant at Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dr. Craig and his wife, Linda, shared a rewarding | ||
| marriage that spanned more than 50 years; he was the proud father | ||
| of five children, John, Matthew, Thomas, Sarah, and Margaret, and | ||
| he also took great delight in his 11 grandchildren; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Although Dr. David Craig will be deeply missed, | ||
| he has left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that | ||
| they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory | ||
| of Dr. David Clark Craig and extend heartfelt sympathy to his | ||
| loved ones; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do | ||
| so in memory of Dr. David Craig. | ||
