| WHEREAS, Gustavo Guillermo Flores IV of Troop 852 in | ||
| Mesquite has recently been honored by the Boy Scout program for | ||
| attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, a rank achieved by only a small | ||
| percentage of boys in the program; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This fine young man displayed outstanding | ||
| leadership through the planning and execution of a service | ||
| project that has benefited his community; for his project, he | ||
| refurbished several wooden props that are used during the City of | ||
| Mesquite's annual Christmas in the Park event and painted a | ||
| number of Texas-sized yard games for the city's annual Summer | ||
| Sizzle; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Gustavo advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, | ||
| Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching the rank of | ||
| Eagle Scout by following the principles of the Scout oath and | ||
| promise; and | ||
| WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, this personable young | ||
| man has brought great distinction to himself, his family, his | ||
| troop, his community, and his state; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Gustavo is an exceptional representative of the | ||
| State of Texas and a sterling example to all who have the good | ||
| fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Gustavo | ||
| Guillermo Flores IV on earning the rank of Eagle Scout and | ||
| congratulate him on his great achievement; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| Eagle Scout Flores as an expression of high regard from the | ||
| Texas Senate. | ||
