WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize George H. Torres, who is retiring as deputy | ||
superintendent for business and financial services of the | ||
Northside Independent School District after 29 years of | ||
outstanding service to the district; and | ||
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, | ||
Mr. Torres joined the Northside Independent School District as a | ||
budget officer and has gone on to hold numerous other positions | ||
within the district, including director of budget and accounting | ||
and executive director of budget and accounting; and | ||
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Torres has been noted | ||
for his superior organizational skills and expertise; he is a | ||
certified public accountant and a certified Texas school | ||
business official, and he is a member of the Texas Association of | ||
School Business Officials and the Government Finance Officers | ||
Association; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Torres is a talented and resourceful | ||
administrator, and he has handled his many responsibilities with | ||
integrity and dedication; and | ||
WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and | ||
admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Northside | ||
Independent School District will be greatly missed; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend George H. Torres | ||
on his exceptional service to the Northside Independent School | ||
District and extend to him best wishes for continued success in | ||
all his future endeavors; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
