| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Dr. Billy L. Bell for his many years of service in the | ||
| gospel ministry and to his community; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dr. Billy Bell began preaching on July 23, 1979; | ||
| he organized the Judea Missionary Baptist Church in 1986 and | ||
| served as pastor for 11 years, during which time the church grew | ||
| from six members to 300 members; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He is currently the senior pastor at New Pilgrim | ||
| Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, where he began serving | ||
| in 1997, and he is well known for his organizational and | ||
| administrative skills; and | ||
| WHEREAS, | ||
| WHEREAS, Dr. Billy L. Bell is a man of deep faith and | ||
| devotion whose ministerial leadership has had a positive | ||
| influence on the lives of many Christians; he is being honored at | ||
| the Frank Ray Conference in Memphis, Tennessee, on July 7, 2011, | ||
| for his 32 years of service and his many achievements; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Dr. Billy L. Bell | ||
| for his service to his church and his community and extend to him | ||
| best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of highest regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
