| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the second annual Soljazz Festival, which is being held | ||
| June 7 through 16, 2013; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This exceptional event is led by Gemstone | ||
| Management chief executive officer Meredith Capleton and | ||
| Southwest Mobile Advertising chief executive officer Edrick | ||
| Laney; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The festival will showcase a wide variety of | ||
| performers, including Smokin' Joe McBride, Cherrelle, Natural | ||
| Change, Reginald Robinson, Alcedrick Todd, and many others; and | ||
| WHEREAS, | ||
| WHEREAS, The festival has in its short history established | ||
| itself as a premier event in the arts and cultural scene in the | ||
| Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and it is truly deserving of | ||
| recognition; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the sponsors and | ||
| organizers of the 2013 Soljazz Festival on their outstanding | ||
| efforts and extend to them best wishes for continued success; | ||
| and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the festival as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
