| WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to recognize Trevon | ||
| Jones for his exceptional achievements at The University of Texas | ||
| at Austin and his commitment to the field of education; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A former Paschal High School student, Trevon | ||
| Jones graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in May of | ||
| 2013 with a double major in mathematics and government and a | ||
| minor in education; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He was a participant in the university's UTeach | ||
| program and was chosen to represent the program on NBC's | ||
| "Education Nation Teacher Town Hall" last fall; and | ||
| WHEREAS, While at the university, he taught and tutored | ||
| younger students, earned a seat at a science and technology | ||
| roundtable at the White House, and received the first UTeach | ||
| Outreach Leadership Award; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He has set his sights on a teaching career and | ||
| will soon be starting classes at Texas Christian University and | ||
| working toward a master's degree in business administration and a | ||
| doctorate in education; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to Trevon | ||
| Jones for his exemplary achievements as a student at The | ||
| University of Texas at Austin and his dedication to the field of | ||
| education; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in his | ||
| honor and as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
