AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE
(Proposed by the House Committee on General Laws
on February 11, 2010)
(Patrons Prior to Substitute--Delegates Purkey and Marshall, R.G. [HB 1318])
A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 2.2-3104.01, relating to the Governor; certain outside activities and employment prohibited.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 2.2-3104.01 as follows:

§2.2-3104.01. Governor; certain outside activities and employment prohibited.

In addition to the prohibitions contained in §2.2-3103, the Governor shall not (i) perform any work or activity for remuneration other than his official duties as Governor, or (ii) hold an official leadership position in a national political party.
