A BILL to amend and reenact §15.2-1601 of the Code of
Virginia, relating to constitutional officers; dual office holding; prohibited
for deputies and other persons.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That §15.2-1601 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§15.2-1601. Requirements for officers.
The officers required by §15.2-1600 are subject to the
residency, qualification for office, bonding, dual-office-holding requirements
and prohibitions provided for in Chapter 15 of this
title (§15.2-1500 et seq.). The provisions of Article
6 (§15.2-1534 et seq.) of Chapter 15 shall
also apply to deputies of such officers appointed pursuant to §
15.2-1603 and persons serving in such officer's
absence pursuant to subsection F of §24.2-228.1.
