Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  §1. That the Board of Education shall adopt regulations providing for an additional testing period, to occur prior to March 1 of each year, for the administration of Standards of Learning assessments to students. Local school boards may elect to participate in such additional testing period.

§2. Any costs associated with the administration of Standards of Learning assessments during the additional testing period adopted pursuant to §1 of this act shall be borne by the participating school division.
